CFD Research Corporation is seeking a CNC Programmer to join our team and play a pivotal role in the programming of complex parts for our customers. This position is a new role that will work on a growing team of engineers and technicians and will encompass programming and setup of CNC machines to help support technology development programs designed and prototyped at our new Hollywood, Alabama Engineering Test Center, located a short distance from our Headquarters in Huntsville, AL. The ideal candidate will have experience developing lathe, 3&5 axis CNC programs for machining complex parts. Creating machine setup sheets, tool lists, and other related documents. This role requires strong communication skills.
Basic Qualifications:
- Candidate must be a US Citizen and meet eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance
- Position requires a associates degree or higher and 4 years minimum experience in a CNC machining/programming environment
- Experience designing and developing tooling and fixtures for manufacturing
- Mastercam and SolidWorks or other CAD experience
- Proficient in working with a variety of materials, including plastics, aluminum, steel, stainless steels, and nickel alloys
Desired Qualifications:
- Familiarity with AS9100 process
- Deep understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Experience with ERP systems (Cetec)
- Experience with aerospace hardware
- Experience with Mazak CNCs (Smooth AI)
Location: This individual will work onsite in Hollywood, AL.
